Tryouts are for any boy or girl born in the age range 8/1/17-7/31/18 (or younger, if interested) wishing to play travel soccer in fall 2026. Starting in September 2026, all boys and girls in this age range move up to U9 travel soccer to play in travel leagues against other local soccer clubs (no longer in-house intramurals).

We hold these tryouts to identify how many kids want to play and how many teams we may have. Our goal is to place every kid that wants to play on a team. It is only possible to do so if we have enough players for a team and we have parents that will coach the team.

If your child wants to continue playing, your child needs to attend BOTH tryout dates. Both dates are held at St Patrick's soccer fields.

The VOB Shamrocks team will be holding tryouts on May 26, May 28, June 2, and June 4. Tryouts will be held at Moriches Soccer Park in St. James. Field #1. 6:30-7:45 pm. We are looking for girls born between August 1, 2012 and July 31, 2014.

 

Currently the team plays in Long Island Junior Soccer League - GU13, Division 2. We are planning on playing in a Columbus Day and Memorial Day Soccer Tournament. The team plays in the fall and spring season. We practice twice a week. Games will be on Sunday. The team will have some winter training sessions at Sports Arena.

CLINIC & INTRAMURAL PROGRAMS INFO

CLINIC (birth dates 8/1/19-7/31/22)

The Clinic program at V.O.B. Soccer is for young players who are interested in trying soccer.  The program is designed to introduce young children from the ages of 3 to 6 to the game. The children are not expected to have any skills in soccer, only a desire to have fun playing the game.  They play on a small team against other V.O.B. teams at the same age level (coed).  The teams meet on Sunday afternoons (some Saturday exceptions) for a half hour practice led by our trainers from Strive Athletics, which is followed by a half hour game.  The size of field and goals varies which each age group. The focus of the program is to have all of the children have as many “touches” with a soccer ball as possible, getting them comfortable playing the game.  No scores are kept and all of the children are given equal time to play in the game.  At the end of the season, all of the children are rewarded with a trophy for their efforts.

Unless otherwise stated all clinic sessions run  Sundays from 12:00 -1:00 pm and/or 12:30- 1:30 pm at the Patrick Kinane Memorial Soccer Fields (behind St. Patrick' RC Church/School).

​​​​INTRAMURAL (birth dates 8/1/17-7/31/19)

The VOB soccer club offers a competitive, in-house Intramural program designed to help young soccer players continue their development and make the transition from our clinic program. Games are (4) four 12 minute quarters, with a continuous clock.  Games are held at the Patrick Kinane Memorial Soccer Fields (behind St. Patrick' RC Church/School) and game times are on Sundays at either 2:00pm or 3:15pm (unless otherwise stated). Additionally, Intramural teams play crossover games with St. Joseph's CYO in Kings Park and Elwood Soccer Club. Games may also take place at their respective fields. ​​
